Truck driving through high water

Hurricane Florence

was a long lived, Cat-4, hurricane that struck the coast of the Carolinas in September of 2018. The Hurricane caused severe damage due to the result of freshwater flooding. Brittmoore Rescue had “boots on the ground” 24 hours before the hurricane hit.

Florence is the wettest tropical cyclone to hit the Carolinas, to date, as well as the 1 st major storm of the 2018 season.

Collaborating with several other search and rescue organization in the area, the loss of life was extremely low, and Brittmoore was able to assist with several animal rescues (domestic and farm).

Immediately following the wrap up of search and rescue, Brittmoore Rescue started a drive to collect items desperately needed in the Carolinas. At the beginning of October, the team loaded up a 15-foot box truck full of water, food, clothing, and cleaning supplies, and made the 48-hour journey from Houston, Texas to Dunn, North Carolina.
