Hurricane Michael

was the first Cat-5 hurricane to strike the U.S. since Andrew in 1992. This particular Cat-5 struck the Florida Panhandle causing major destruction. The 13th named storm of 2018 struck us in October of 2018, as Brittmoore Rescue was finishing up supply efforts with the previous storm, Hurricane Florence.

The 160 mph hurricane flatten towns down to the foundations, and moved homes acres away from their lots. Hurricane Michael claimed the lives of 74 people, and moved too fast for Brittmoore Rescue to make land for search and rescue. Afterwards, Brittmoore Rescue would start a supply drive for the stricken areas, sending in items such as food, water, cleaning supplies, and toiletries to several churches, and shelters in the area.
